Shoot magazines was launched in 1969 and at a cover price of one shilling (5p). It had one benefit already - for about a year the Goal had already tempted football magazine readers into buying a regular football magazine at a reduced rate to Charles Buchan's Football Monthly - Shoot came in even cheaper and with a brighter more popular front cover format. Shoot Magazine in one format or another ran for 39 years. It eat up Goal magazine in 1974 but ended publication in this paper version in 2008. It remains one of the most sort after football magazines, only now people collect it and it's contents for the memories and football research.
